The Slide Rock area north of Sedona, Arizona is an awesome place to shoot. On a previous visit to Sedona I had the pleasure of meeting renown photographer Derek Von Briesen who turned me on to this spot (Thanks Derek!) The best time to shoot here is at first light when the sun reflects high on the canyon walls down into the creek which is still in shadow, but one can spend the better part of whole day taking images here. This outing also was the first with a new camera, the Canon 5D Mark II which I recently acquired to replace the 5D Classic. After shooting the lower section of the pools earlier, I hiked upstream a ways and spotted this view which caught my eye.
